Sparkly and fabulous

I love it when being crafty flows over into my dreams.  Since about August, I have been looking for a Christmas card idea.  I get these lofty notions that I should start stamping Christmas cards in the summer.  Too help get my festive creative juices flowing, I go so-far as to pull out a Christmas movie in hopes of evoking the spirit of the holidays when it's hot enough to cook an egg on pavement.  But alas (back of my hand placed on the forehead...you know, the real damsel-in-distress look), it was all in vain.  Not a single Christmas-y idea filled my head...(sigh).

While at Dad and Mom's last week, Mom showed me the cutest card idea that she had found on Archiver's website.  It involves a cute coffee cup.  Ummmmm HELLO -- Christmas AND coffee...two of my favorites!!!  Soooo I did some research (basically called Archiver's in Indianapolis) and located a set of these stamps.  The clerk at the store was even nice enough to pull a set of the stamps and set them aside with my name on them.

Saturday evening - the stamps were purchased.  They are a little smaller than I had hoped...but alas, they are super cute, so I shalln't complain.

Now that I have the stamps and have been wistfully looking at them in hopes of a vision filling my creative brain and then bubbling up my creative juices...well, wish no more!  Last night I had a dream about my Christmas cards.  Actually it was more of a crafting epiphany.  I think I am going to stamp the coffee cup and then stamp it again.  On the second stamped cup, I will cut off the sleeve and stamp "Merry Christmas!" and either stamp or find a holly leaf punch.  I'm envisioning 3-D holly leaves with some red sparkle bling.  Now the truth of the matter is -- this card idea sounds cute, right?  Well....it also sounds like quite a bit of work...  I might make this dazzling card for the crafters/stampers in my life and then make a modified card for the non-stampers/crafters.  Let's face it -- I have some friends (oh, you know who you are) who are going to keep this creative genius for years (YEARS!!!!) and I want to be in your "Save" pile with something truly fabulous and sparkly...

There you have it.   I love it when I need a card idea and then I dream about it.  Here's hoping (raising my coffee mug in a toast) that my cards turn out fabulously like in my dream.

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
