(Sigh.)

I hate it when I am about to drift off to sleep and I compose a delightful blog post in my brain...only to wake-up some 8 hours later and not remember anything about the post.  (Sigh.)  This happened to me last night.  I had the perfectly charming blog post coming together in my brain....and when my alarm woke me out of a sound slumber this morning, I could not remember a single detail of said blog post.  Oh well...it wasn't meant to be.  Story of my life.

Soooo here it is Thursday evening.  It's way past my bedtime.  Way past as in after 10 p.m.  :)  I haven't blogged in a couple of days and I feel like I need to document those missing days.  Let's see...

Monday was Memorial Day.  I spent the day with the sicky feeling I get after I consume gluten.  It wasn't much fun but it forced me to relax and not do anything.  I kinda liked that.  It gave me a good excuse to sleep in and wear my jammies for 97% of the day.

Tuesday was back to work.  I learned that my co-worker was going to have heart surgery on Thursday (today).  Kinda scary stuff.  I mean, it's your heart!!!  This surgery has been a source of much prayer for the doctors, nurses, patient, patient's family, etc.  You see, my department - engineering - is kinda like a big family. We are, I will admit, slightly dysfunctional.  But let's be real -- we put the FUN in dysFUNction.

Wednesday, yesterday...we had a visiting choir at our church.  It was such a source of encouragement in the middle of the week.  I absolutely love mid-week church.  It helps keep me focused between Sundays.

And this brings me to today...after work, I ran a quick errand.  Technically 2 errands... My first was to the red bull's eye (Target) where I purchased a long list of necessities.  Why is it (and maybe this is just ME) that all the necessities seem to run out around the same time?  Toiletries, Kleenex, paper towel, cleaning supplies, vitamins, etc?  My quick trip to Target lasted all of 15 minutes.  And in that time, I managed to spend quite a chunk of change.  My second errand was a whim...I ran into JoAnn Fabrics to see if they had their new shipment of Red Heart Boutique yarn, color Mambo!  This yarn is for the very last ordered scarf that will need to be sent separately to Georgia.  I've been waiting and waiting on this skein of yarn.  Finally -- it was here!  I bought 2 skeins.  Call me paranoid.  I don't care.  Maybe I am yarn-paranoid.  The color is delightful so if no one orders the extra one, I shall keep this scarf for myself.  It's a mixture of navy, raspberry, and lime green.  I'm fairly certain that I have SOMETHING in my closet that it will work with.  Jeans perhaps.

So there you have it -- you are up to date on the life of the girl with curly hair.

Tomorrow after work, I am going to meet a dear friend for a tall coffee before heading up to Roscoe to enjoy supper with other dear friends.  My contribution to the supper is blackberry, mango, and peach fruit salad.  I will let you know how it turns out.  I am a little nervous because I've not ever made said salad.

Saturday.  Glorious, do-nothing Saturday.  Oh, how I have waited all week for you to be here.  That's right, Blog-Stalkers, I have nothing going on on Saturday and truth-be-told, I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!!

Sunday is church and then a birthday party for a very special 2-year old.  Super excited about seeing this little monster and his delightful big sister!

Happy Almost Friday!
Goodnight!!!

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
