For my Bible study group, we are reading the book Resolutions for Women. It's most excellent.
The others started the book when I wasn't feeling so well, so I am about a week behind. It's one of those read-at-your-own-pace-and-post-comments-with-what-was-convicting-and-or-encouraging book studies. We don't have a formal time to meet -- as we are connected virtually.
In Part One, Priscilla Shirer (the author) wrote:
"I recognized by rushing through life, I'd been subtly devaluing those around me and the experiences I was involved in, not appreciating the importance and significance they bring to my life at this very moment, not grasping my responsibility for holding dear and treating well these gifts God has entrusted to me." ~ p. 21
The thing I like about having an E-reader: It makes transporting books a cinch.
The thing I don't like: I cannot underline and highlight and flip the corner of the page down. Yes, I am the kind of girl that likes to write and highlight in books. My cookbooks have notes scribbled in the margins. My Bible, likewise. Fiction. Nonfiction. They are all marked up.
I use journals to jot sermon notes...so I am using my journal to record quotes, verses, and answers to Priscilla's thought-provoking questions from this study that have spoken to me.
I cannot wait to share more!!! In the meantime, find yourself a copy of this wonderful study. If you have a Nook and want me to share it, send me an email. :) I share books. I'm nice like that.
