I've decided that along with studying the Christmas story for the next couple of weeks, I will add Rhonda Rhea's book. Yesterday the introduction and chapter one implored me to keep Christ in Christmas and not get soo focused on the TO DO's that I miss the real reason - REDEMPTION - for His arrival as that babe in the manger.
Chapter two begins with Rhonda sharing her own Christmas Shoes moment. I love the second paragraph...
"I was wearing exceptionally cute shoes. That's important to note since cute shoes are so integral to that classy Christmas look. The problem with cute shoes is that they're so seldom practical. I can't remember a single time anyone has said to me, 'Would you take a look at my adorable orthopedic shoes!' 'Cute' usually means painful. Sometimes it even means dangerous." ~ p. 19
