My crafty friend Nancy bought me a Crop-A-Dile. This gadget is incredible!!! See those weird prongy things on the sides -- they are for punching holes. You can adjust the size of the hole. The middle (where you would normally insert paper to punch - if this was an old-school hole punch) is where you put your brad or snap or eyelet. You squeeze the hand and it sets the brad/snap/eyelet in place.
This gadget will punch through...tin, paper, cardboard, leather, fabric, and plastic.
I'm super excited about using it in my sewing journal. I envision setting eyelets on the front and back covers and using them to close the journal with ribbon laced through the eyelets.
What a fun tool!!!
Even more so than the delightful crafting tool, I'm thankful that I got to spend several hours laughing and chatting with Nancy. Michael's Craft Store on E. State Street has a backroom where they host a Saturday scrap. It was $5 and we had free reign on their craft cabinet. It was stocked with 12x12 paper, adhesives, various tools (including Cri-Cuts and a Big Shot!) and embellishments. The Michael's associate kept digging through their supplies and handing us stuff to use.
The scrap lasted from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The cost was $5.
Time spent with Nancy: PRICELESS :)

My initial viewing of your new craft tool...before reading what it actually was, made me think that you were having a really hard time trimming toenails and had upgraded to a large nail trimmer. YIKES! So glad that's not the case!
Happy scrapping!
