My weekend began with a quick trip to the gym with Lauren...where we laughed and chatted and laughed some more. Did you know laughing burns calories? It sure does. Plus it also helps the 30 minutes of cardio go by much faster.
After the gym, a planning meeting...which ended with us planning to meeting again. :) I do love being on this committee. The gals I am working with are FABULOUS!
Saturday afforded me the opportunity to be a blessing and help Gloria with her consignment sale. My first assignment - purchase all the 1.5 bushel laundry baskets at Wal-Mart in the hood. 16 laundry baskets later, I headed to the Tebala Shrine where I played the role of cashier. I like being a cashier. Once upon a time, in college, I was a cashier for Kroger (the sister company of Hilander). I thoroughly enjoyed ringing up people's groceries. Strange, huh? Handling money and counting back change does not bother me one bit. I actually like to calculate their change in my brain and then confirm that I am right. It sounds kinda geeky when I read it in print. (Sigh.)
Three hours later, I bid Gloria fond farewell. It should be noted - I'm still not crazy about their move to Indianapolis. One would think that after 5 months, I would be "ok" with it. I'm not. Saying "goodbye" again reminded me of the distance between us.
After helping Gloria, I kept my promise to myself (and to my wretched kitchen floors) and I came home and cleaned the cottage. I didn't deep spring clean...but I did clean...and afterwards, I walked from room to room admiring the coziness and cleanliness of my humble place of residence.
Today (which happens to be Sunday) was rather enjoyable. This morning I managed to get to church early and set out all the Sunday school papers and pull out all the flashcards before the children came. I like getting there early because it affords me time to just breathe and not rush-rush-rush! We didn't have choir today -- what a difference having that extra hour made. I hit the gym after church and then stopped at Woodman's for a couple of things before heading to the cottage for several hours of relaxation. I did consider taking a nap but I forced myself to not be a sluggard. I pulled out cotton yarn and began my 23rd dish cloth! I'm almost halfway done with my Christmas project...and IT IS ONLY MARCH!!!! :)
Tomorrow is my best friend's birthday. A year ago, we were scampering about Seattle drinking way too much coffee, eating octopus, and taking ferry rides to magical places. I love looking through my pictures of my journey to the Great Northwest. What sweet memories.
On Wednesday, if you think about it - pray for my friend & former neighbor Cheryl. She is having heart surgery.
This week I get to have two sewing classes. My regular class time and then a make-up class from one of the many classes we missed due to inclement weather. And Saturday, my friend Nancy is coming over to stamp. I'm soooo excited about all the crafting that could potentially take place this week.
The coffeemaker is programmed to brew at 5:35 tomorrow morning. Monday has great potential!!!
