Why I think winter's not ova...

1.  Back in the summer when it was hot and drought-ish, I prayed and asked the Lord for a hearty winter to put moisture back in the ground.  We must remember this snow and cold are good for the ground!!!

2.  Have you looked at the 7-day forecast???  Cold...and maybe some flurries.  Complaining about the cold and yuck won't make it go away.  Do you really want another drought?  I don't.

3.  I don't have my 1st sewing project (springy, summery skirt) done.  I have a few more steps...  Maybe by the time I have it completed, maybe, we will have some springish weather.

4.  The squirrels and such have not been scampering about.  Normally their frolicking signals spring.  Those nut-crazed rodents are snug and warm inside their burrows.  Burrows?  Do squirrels have burrows?  I know the two squirrels that reside near the cottage have a cozy abode in the large tree adjacent to said cottage.

I don't think winter is over.  I don't think grumbling and complaining about it will make the days go by any quicker.

Cranky pants (at work) was in a foul mood on Monday as it was snowing.  I inquired, "Am I able to change the weather?  Are you able to change the weather?  We may not like it, but there's not a single thing either one of us can do about it.  You need to get over your grumpies or else you are not going to see the likes of me until 4:28 today.  Also, there's yummy Noosa yogurt in the fridge."  And I exited stage left.  Chew on those words, big guy.  And you wanna know something...I did wait a bit before going back into that particular office but when I did, I was greeted with a kinder, gentler big guy.  And he's still my favorite co-worker...a case of winter grumpies won't bump him from the #1 position.

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
