Quote of the day

Tonight at sewing class...

Me:  "Oh no!"
Teacher:  "What's wrong?"
Me:  "I'm now to the part that requires bias tape."
Teacher:  "And...what's wrong with that?"
Me:  "I'm afraid of that stuff!  It makes me nervous."
Teacher:  "Girl, why on earth would it make you nervous?"
Me:  "No reason.  I'm just being ridiculous again."

Ridiculous because it was 7:30 p.m. in the past 12 hours, I have...

commuted to work
worked 8 hours
drove to the gym
30 minutes of the flailing elliptical (and let's not forget the laughed with Lauren part)
drove to JoAnn's and purchased bias tape
from JoAnn's to Woodman's to buy a bag of raw veggies, yogurt dip, and a bottle of water
arrived 30 minutes late to sewing class

Sigh.
Tuesdays are so exhausting!!!

I am happy to report that my summery top is coming along quite nicely.  If I had to guess (and this will totally be a guess because I'm too tired - errrr...laaaazy - to get up and go dig out the pattern, find the total number of steps, figure out where I left off at, and calculate the percentage complete...ugh - just typing it has tired me out!)...I'm probably halfway done.  The bias tape was a snap!!!  You unfold half of it and then stitch on the little where-it-was-once-folded line.  GENIUS!!!!  I cannot believe that bias tape made me nervous.  Of course, I'm crazy.  Once upon a time, I was afraid of circular knitting needles and now look at me -- I use them often.  They help create adorable cowl scarves.

A part of me -- and believe me, it's minuscule right now -- would love to continue sewing my top tonight...but then this other part me -- the majority of me minus the minuscule sewing-addict!!! -- wants nothing more than to go crawl under the covers and drift off to the happy land o'slumber.

Goodnight blog-stalkers.

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
