I'm almost done with Northanger Abbey and I forgot how much I don't like the part that I am currently reading. Infact, I wish there was a way that I could meet Jane Austen at Meg's Daily Grind and order us two iced decaf ginger teas (my new favorite summer drink!). I would ask Jane, "What in the world were you thinking when you penned pages 190 to 203? Why did you force the heroine's overactive imagination to nearly ruin her chances with that nice guy? I mean, I understand the whole need-for-suspense, but I have already set-aside hours and fallen smitten with Henry (said nice guy). Cut the suspense and tell me if they are going to end up together!!! Please."
And then I remember Jane Austen is deceased and I will never ever, ever know...
(Sigh.)
Thus the perils of reading something fabulous from yester-year.
It's been years since I read this novel and I cannot remember how it ends. I'm hoping well.
Also - if you are thinking about reading this novel on your Nook, do it! Buy it the Barnes & Noble Classic version because they have created links to several words/phrases to help you understand Jane's writing style. It's such a delightful feature. I may read more Classics in this format.
