Tomorrow night we will be beginning the 2nd part of the study: Renewing Your Mind. The first chapter in this 2nd section is titled: Getting in Touch with Reality.
I found the book on www.half.com for next-to-nothing. I love used books almost as much as I love new books. I love books. Yeah, that's what I should've wrote in the first place. (Sigh.) I appreciate used books. In my copy of this book, a mother wrote (with much love):
Dear Tyler,
Please take your time with
this book - mark the margins,
underline statements & hi-lite.
Jeremiah 33:3.
Love, Momma
Isn't that the sweetest thing!!!
Soo back to the first chapter in this second section...
Near the end of each chapter, Jim Berg has a chapter break titled, "Take time to reflect" where he gives some statements to ponder and apply. In this particular chapter, he lists several hymns to consider.
The first hymn is Constantly Abiding...
There’s a peace in my heart that the world never gave,
A peace it cannot take away;
Though the trials of life may surround like a cloud,
I’ve a peace that has come here to stay!
A peace it cannot take away;
Though the trials of life may surround like a cloud,
I’ve a peace that has come here to stay!
Refrain:
Constantly abiding, Jesus is mine;
Constantly abiding, rapture divine;
He never leaves me lonely, whispers, oh, so kind:
“I will never leave thee”—Jesus is mine.
Constantly abiding, Jesus is mine;
Constantly abiding, rapture divine;
He never leaves me lonely, whispers, oh, so kind:
“I will never leave thee”—Jesus is mine.
All the world seemed to sing of a Savior and King,
When peace sweetly came to my heart;
Troubles all fled away and my night turned to day,
Blessed Jesus, how glorious Thou art!
When peace sweetly came to my heart;
Troubles all fled away and my night turned to day,
Blessed Jesus, how glorious Thou art!
This treasure I have in a temple of clay,
While here on His footstool I roam;
But He’s coming to take me some glorious day,
Over there to my heavenly home!
While here on His footstool I roam;
But He’s coming to take me some glorious day,
Over there to my heavenly home!
