Earlier today I went to Kohl's in search of a t-shirt or top to go with my lemon skirt. I envisioned something yellow or maybe even a fun shade of green.
What I found (after a solid 45 minutes of searching) was a denim pleated-neck top.
You know how everything at Kohl's is always on sale so you can never just read the tag and know what you are going to pay? The sign I read said the Lauren Conrad top was going to be $25. Since I had a $10-off birthday coupon, I figured I would use birthday cash to cover the difference.
When I went up to the checkout, the top rang up at $10.87. The cashier scanned my coupon while giving me the whole sign-up-for-a-Kohls-credit-card speech claiming I could save 30%.
After said speech, the clerk said, "Your total is 87 cents."
I so very badly wish my college roommate was with me because whenever we shop together and save money, she always (ALWAYS!) quotes a sweet Asian gal from our former dorm hall who was having a room sale, "Gooooooood bargain!!!" Maybe that's one of those you-had-to-be-there moments. Hmmmm...
Anyway...wanna see the cute top I got for 87 whole cents? Which I totally did not have 3 quarters, 1 dime, and 2 pennies. I had to break a bill.
Here's the top...
