The Power of the Cross ~ Lyrics by Keith Getty & Stuart Townend

Oh, to see the dawn
Of the darkest day:
Christ on the road to Calvary.
Tried by sinful men,
Torn and beaten, then
Nailed to a cross of wood.

CHORUS:
This, the pow'r of the cross:
Christ became sin for us;
Took the blame, bore the wrath—
We stand forgiven at the cross.

Oh, to see the pain
Written on Your face,
Bearing the awesome weight of sin.
Ev'ry bitter thought,
Ev'ry evil deed
Crowning Your bloodstained brow.

Now the daylight flees;
Now the ground beneath
Quakes as its Maker bows His head.
Curtain torn in two,
Dead are raised to life;
"Finished!" the vict'ry cry.

Oh, to see my name
Written in the wounds,
For through Your suffering I am free.
Death is crushed to death;
Life is mine to live,
Won through Your selfless love.

FINAL CHORUS:
This, the pow'r of the cross:
Son of God—slain for us.
What a love! What a cost!
We stand forgiven at the cross

See What A Morning ~ Lyrics by Keith Getty

See What A Morning
Lyrics by: Keith Getty

See, what a morning, gloriously bright, With the dawning of hope in Jerusalem; Folded the grave-clothes, tomb filled with light, As the angels announce, "Christ is risen!" See God's salvation plan, Wrought in love, borne in pain, paid in sacrifice, Fulfilled in Christ, the Man, For He lives: Christ is risen from the dead!
See Mary weeping, "Where is He laid?" As in sorrow she turns from the empty tomb; Hears a voice speaking, calling her name; It's the Master, the Lord raised to life again! The voice that spans the years, Speaking life, stirring hope, bringing peace to us, Will sound till He appears, For He lives: Christ is risen from the dead!
One with the Father, Ancient of Days, Through the Spirit who clothes faith with certainty. Honor and blessing, glory and praise To the King crowned with pow'r and authority! And we are raised with Him, Death is dead, love has won, Christ has conquered; And we shall reign with Him, For He lives: Christ is risen from the dead!

Resurrected Life

On Easter Sunday, Bryan and I went to Open Door Church in Hudson, Michigan.  The pastor had invited a missionary friend to preach on Resurrection morning!  The service was full of singing praises and hymns focused on the risen Savior.  What a wonderful blessing!!!

The missionary preached the Resurrected Life and implored us to live this promise everyday!!!  Some of my jotted notes include…

(v. 16) Stop seeing people as things à see them as spiritual beings in need of Jesus.

(v. 20-21) We cannot help but be ambassadors for Christ.  It should pour out of us because of His goodness and love and mercy extended to us.  We, then, should extend those traits through others.  Not in and of our own strength…but through Him.

5 Qualities of the Resurrected Life:
1. Motivated to live to please God
2. Live in confidence in a Savior who conquered death!!!
3. Be love-filled.  Be marked with a self-sacrificing love for others
4. A reconciled life
5. Be an ambassador.

2 Corinthians 5
For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.  For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. 12 For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart. 13 For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause. 14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. 16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

I ♡ this red door.

I love red.  Red shoes...red nails...red totes...red sweaters...red dresses...even my Rosie (Toyota Corolla) is red.

Bryan and I have enjoyed a leisure weekend.  We have watched a couple movies, played board games, and went for walks around Hudson.

During our many walks, we found a beautiful red door...naturally my heart went pitter-patter.

Upcoming Sibling Shenanigans...

It’s been quite some time since I have been to Michigan to visit my brother.  It’s not that we haven’t gotten together…he drove out to the Land of Lincoln for Thanksgiving and then again for Christmas through New Year’s…and in February we met in the Windy City for the AutoShow.  Well, it’s my turn to travel to him sooo today I booked my Amtrak ticket for Easter weekend which is in 2 weeks.  {Yeah!}  I even decided to splurge and take “Easter Monday” off as well…that way I get to spend all of Easter with the big guy.  On Monday, he will deliver me to the Amtrak station – via Starbucks because I had to bribe him to get him to pick-me-up and take-me-back to the train.  I believe his exact words were, “If I don’t show up to get you, call Dial-A-Ride or a taxi.”  Nice.  Where was I?  Oh, on Monday morning, he will deliver me ( * hoping * ) via Starbucks or the cute little coffeeshop establishment next to Amtrak – all before he heads in to work.  What a guy!!!  I have no idea what we will do that weekend…I know he’s been wanting to clean out and setup his screened-in porch area.  It’s actually quite nice with several windows and hardwood floors.  I’m thinking a table with a couple chairs or a futon / daybed out there.  I think he’s finally seeing my vision for his porch…it’s only taken 4 years.  “Sis, it would be nice to be able to sit out there and read or drink coffee.”  Ummmm…YES!  Yes, it would.  Perhaps we will work on his porch…  I do know this – whatever we do, it will be a blast!!!  I love spending time with this guy.

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
