A gift

I'm the kind of girl who enjoys going hunting for the perfect gift. I love thinking about and pondering what to get someone. Birthdays, Christmas, Just Because...I love buying gifts that will make someone happy. Whether it's going out at 4 a.m. on Black Friday to use a coupon and get my brother a Kitchen Aid mixer...or finding a fabulous coffee cup that says something that reminds me of my best friend...to finding a good deal on an article of clothing that my Mom will just love! I love buying gifts. I really, really do! It makes me happy that I can invest my time hunting for the perfect thing to tell someone that I care and that they mean alot to me....soooooo...when Nancy Leigh DeMoss presented the idea, "God has given me (ME) the gift of Singleness for this season" - this really hit home. You see, I don't always think of being single as a gift. Maybe a gag gift...but not a gift from the God of the universe Who knows me better than I know myself...better than my parents know me...better than my closest friends know me. God knows me and loves me and for this moment in time -- He is giving me the gift of being single.

Being single means...
~ I can go on fun roadtrips when I get the urge to see Boston in the fall.
~ I can watch your children so you and your husband can go out to dinner child-less.
~ I can wear my pajamas all day, not take a shower, and eat cereal out of the box.
~ I can pray for your children and their future spouses.
~ I can go out for coffee at the drop of a hat.

Being single isn't the end of the world. I mean, I could be married to psycho! :)
