After securing the shoe to the mop, I prayed, "Lord, you have power over all nature. Please make this bee land so I can kill it. I need to put my contacts in and eat breakfast...and I don't want to be late for work. Amen."
Thankfully the bee landed, I announced that he was going to be with Jesus, and then I squished him to his death. I do not believe he knew what hit him...which is good because I wouldn't want a bee to suffer.
When I discussed the bee killing with my co-worker, he said, "Angie...that poor bee makes honey. Now what will the other bees do?" I thought about this for a moment and I said, "Somewhere there is a little over-achiever bee who is waiting for an opportunity to impress the Queen with his skills. Now is his chance!"
I know that the bees are cranky because we had all of those cooler days and they thought, Hey-it's almost fall and that means we can go into the hive and chill out for the summer...and then BAM-it's hot again. I understand. I'm not a fan of the humidity that accompanies the heat...but it is what it is. And soon enough -- it will be snow! I know it's the 4-letter word everyone hates...but it is coming.

Never thought about the bees being cranky about the weather change! Thank you for the humorous side of a bee's life...and death.
