I have a dryer full of clean towels...and yet I sit here and want to blog instead of folding laundry. I'm currently sharing the stuffed ottoman with Maggie...she is taking her half out of the middle and I don't quite appreciate the way that she is using her hind legs to attempt to shove me off my third (YES -- THIRD) of the ottoman. Can't we get along, evil cat? Apparently not...apparently it's not enough that I go to work everyday to provide for our housing and keep her food bowl filled. It's not enough that she can lay in the windowsill soaking up the sunshine while I slave away at work.
Today I worked on this huge on-going project at work. I'm keeping track of the millions of gallons of sewage that flow through this cool pumping station that we have. Yep - it's crappy, but someone has to do it. Ha. ha. ha. I know - it wasn't right, but you have to admit that it was kind of funny. :)
After work, I managed to finally (and I saw "finally" because I have been completely without laundry soap for seven...7 days!!!) go to Sam's and purchase a huge bottle of laundry soap. If I buy the largest bottle of Woolite known to mankind, it will literally last me for months and months. I like purchasing this monstrocity of a bottle because then I am not stuck getting smaller ones at Target and I can rest assured that I do have plenty of laundry soap. After Sam's (which wasn't too busy tonight), I went to Borders and perused the new fiction in search of Kristin Billerbeck's new book -- something with the word "Millions" in the title. I read a snippet of the book this week. It was featured in the Good Reads newsletter. I enjoyed reading Kristin's other books...so I am sure that this one will be great too.
Speaking of books - I just want to say that Karen Kingsbury did it to me again!!!! She roped me in with her delightful writing style and by the final book of the Flannigan family, I found myself sad to see it come to an end. Infact the last book was soo touching that I cried as I closed the final page. The storyline -- and I don't want to give it away because several of my blog-stalkers (and you know who you are :)) are devoted Karen Kingsbury fans -- the storyline is very realistic and highly reommendable. (Is recommendable a word? I would think it would be..."Able to be recommended." ? Hmmmm...)
Okay - so after coming up empty-handed at Borders...weird since it is a BOOKSTORE and well, I love books - I went to Meg's Daily Grind where I met up with Leah, Lauren, Ruthie, and Patty. We had a delightful hour visit - as Meg's kicked us out at 7 p.m. 7 p.m. on a Friday night!!! :) Apparently Meg's was fully aware that 1) I needed groceries; 2) I needed to work-out; 3) I was tired from a crazy week.
After Meg's, I hit the gym for what I like to call the "Lazy Girl Work-out"...but truth be told, most physicians recommend 30 minutes 3 times per week. Why do I think 30 minutes is the LGW? Probably because I work-out a ton and maybe I should cut back to 30 minutes just a few times per week. I wonder what would happen....I guess I could try...Hmmmm...It's something to think about.
LGW complete. Off to Woodmans I went. There's something so marvelous about wandering around a grocery store. I'm fairly certain that I love the grocery store because I am a foodie and I love to cook. By saying I am a foodie, I'm just saying that I LOVE FOOD! I like trying different recipes. I like to bake and cook for others. It's what I do. Soo going to Woodmans is kind of therapuetic for me. Just sayin'...
Woodmans complete. And yahoo - the store was practically empty so I used the You-Scan lanes and didn't get any grief because I technically had 27 items instead of "20 Items or Less".
I'm fairly certain that it was close to 9 by the time I got home tonight. Wow -- what a loooooong day...and I wasn't even involved with 100th day!!! (Laughing outloud!) 100th day is something from my past that caused me large amounts of mental anguish and made me want to bang my head against the wall numerous times. Sooo today I was thankful that I was no longer a part of the 100th day. (100 seconds of screaming -- ARE YOU KIDDING ME????)
Happy Friday!
Drat - the washing machine stopped and I really want to wear my navy sweater tomorrow...which means, I am going to have to fold the towels. Stink!
