There is this machine at the gym that totally creeps me out...it kind of looks like an electric chair (per my friend Ruthie). It's an ab machine. You can raise and lower the seat. Once seated, you tuck your legs behind this bar. While sitting with your back against these pads and you reach your arms up and grasp these handles. You then pull down on the handles and do a sitting sit-up.
Let me just stop here and say that I have been going to the gym for almost 2 years and have lost several (SEV-ER-AL) pounds...I am in decent shape...however this electric chair...this device scares me -- that is until recently. And be recently, I do mean Sunday (as in 4 days ago).
On Sunday, I got brave. I sat myself in the electric chair and I did 20 crunches. Afterward, I was stunned...I kept saying outloud to Rhonda, "I did the electric chair! I did the electric chair!" After the fourth announcement, I could see that she was scared and wondering if the electric chair had caused me to have turret-like symptoms. I really could not believe though that I, Angie Good, had done the electric chair.
Since Sunday, I have done the chair every single trip to the gym. And too be honest, my abs are the last area that I want to tone. They were the most neglected. Well, not any more...the Angie train is going down those tracks and she kind of likes the electric chair! (Now don't be spreading that around...let's keep this a secret!!!)
Toodles.
