LITERALLY...Christmas is in the air! Yesterday I read an interesting article in Better Homes & Garden magazine. You know how in the winter the air in your house gets really dry? I have a humidifier that I run all winter long. Well........in BH&G I read, to make your house more homey -- add cinnamon sticks to a pan of boiling water. I thought to myself, What are three cinnamon sticks going to do? Are they really going to fill the cottage with Christmas cheer??? And the answer to that is a BIG FAT YES!!!!!!! I tried it out this morning...as I am out of distilled water for the humidifier...so I gave the cinnamon stick thing a-whirl. Works like a charm.
The article also suggested cloves and nutmeg. I'm going to need to make a run to Sam's Club and buy ALL of these spices in bulk. The cottage is going to smell Christmasy and delightful all winter long...which we all know will last until April-ish.
