A week or so ago, while at the library, I picked-up the most charming book titled: I Have Nothing to Wear! by Jill Martin and Dana Ravich.
At the time, I was intrigued by the statement: "A painless 12-step program to declutter your life so you never have to say this again!"
I do not like clutter. I am a place-for-everything and everything-in-its-place kinda gal...for the most part. My craft shelves may be the one area that the stuff is put away systematically but there are gray areas on those shelves.
After reading the first 5 or chapters, I realized....
1. My fashion style is bohemian. Flowered skirt with a peasant top and sandals. Peasant top with jeans and some fabulous accessory.
2. My closet had some sentimental pieces of clothing that just needed to find their way to the thrift so some other fabulous gal can snag them up for her wardrobe.
3. Never did I know that I truly heart the little black dress (LBD). This happened earlier this week when I was feeling lazy so I asked myself, "What would Sara wear?" She loves the LBD. I grabbed my new-to-me $2.50 LBD and paired it with a coral cardigan, black strappy sandals and a gold necklace that has cornflower blue daisies on it. Finished the outfit with gold hoop earrings. IT WAS AMAZING!!!! Not too sound conceited....I just really liked my LBD dress outfit.
4. I went through my closet and removed 3 fairly good-sized reusable grocerybags full of clothes that do not make me feel like a 10!!! I even went through and tossed - as in into-the-trash several items that we compromised - snagged or stained.
It was so wonderful taking my closet from WHAT IS HAPPENING to organized and full of items that make me feel fabulousl!!
