A lovely hymn...

Most days at work {READ:  When the wi-fi on my phone is connected properly!} I listen to Pandora's country hymn station.  The station plays bluegrass worship songs and traditional hymns.  I love the station as it affords me a small reprieve from the craziness happening outside my cubicle walls...and let's face it, sometimes the craziness enters my cubicle too.  Just keepin' it real.

As of late, my heart has been heavy for my brother.  He's having some struggles and as is favorite sister {Never mind that I'm his ONLY sister.  Wink, wink.}, I am concerned.  He's been on my mind and heart and prayerfully brought to the Throne of Grace where I give him over to my Heavenly Father's care.

A favorite hymn of mine {and there are o'so many, friends!} is Burdens Are Lifted at Calvary.  And while the hymnwriter, John M. Moore, was more-than-likely {no pun intended} referring to dropping our sinload at Calvary because Jesus paid it all....I'd like to think that all three verses apply to my current heartache.

Today this hymn came up in my playlist twice...and each time I found myself focusing on my amazing, all-powerful Heavenly Father who created Bryan and has a plan for Bry's life.

Here are Mr. Moore's wonderful lyrics to his comforting hymn.

1. Days are filled with sorrow and care,
Hearts are lonely and drear.
Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
Jesus is very near.

CHORUS:
Burdens are lifted at Calvary, Calvary, Calvary;
Burdens are lifted at Calvary, Jesus is very near.

2. Cast your care on Jesus today,
Leave your worry and fear.
Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
Jesus is very near.

3. Troubled soul, the Savior can feel
Every heartache and tear.
Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
Jesus is very near.

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
