My daily thing

Slowly, and I do mean slooooooowly, I have been getting back to me.  Getting back to being true-blue-Angie Good.

I lost me.
In the muddle of the turmoil, I lost me.
I was there deep down inside.
I just needed to break-off and step back.

And step back, I did.
Step back and separated.

Harvest has been such a blessing in my life.  I do regret not making the move sooner.  Fear kept me paralyzed from moving.

Thank the Lord for giving me bravery and for moving me.

And now...back to me...
One of the biggest blessings has been - figuring out my work peeps' love languages.  It's a mystery and when I solve it, I throw their language around like CONFETTI!!!

My most recent discovery has yielded abundant rewards.  :)

Don't know what love languages are?  Go to the library and search for Gary Chapman's book.  Read it.  You will thank me later.

Quote of the day 08/21/18

Me:  "Do you care if we scan all of the IEPA permits and then we can clean out a filing cabinet?  The history is we kept a 2nd copy on site.  If we scan it, we will have less paper."

Supervisor:  "If it's duplicate info, sure we can scan them."

Me:  "Ok."

Supervisor:  "Who is going to scan them?"

Me:  "I surmise it will be me because nobody else is going to volunteer."

Supervisor:  "Make sure you scan them correctly.  They could be two-sided."

Me:  *gives the teacher look*

Supervisor:  "Your look reminds me of my wife when she says, 'Give me SOME credit.'"

Me:  "I am not the dim-wit you need to remind about these things."

Mrs. Supervisor is my hero.

Lowering

Repeated lowering of the bar of expectation will eventually place said bar on the ground.  Really.  On. The. Ground.

Wow. Just wow 3.

Having a great work testimony includes...
1. Having good work ethic.
2. Being honest.
3. Not being lazy.

We are life-long disciples of Jesus...always learning and applying God's truth.

Be discipled on Sunday.
Apply it on Monday...and Tuesday and Wednesday and so on and so forth.

It's weird and ABNORMAL to have people stay "teenage-like" with their Christianity.  Spiritually grow-up.

Wow. Just wow 2.

You can track maturity by someone doing something that will not benefit themself but will benefit others.  (Children vs. teenagers vs. adults)

Wow.  Just wow 2.

Wow. Just wow.

Having character at work and IN work is a form of discipleship.  Wow. Just wow.

I am so very thankful for my church.

Journals

There are days when I wish I had saved my college journals.  Especially my chapel  notes.  ALL OF THEM.

The particular journal I am wishing I had tonight was a Boyds Bear journal that said, "Love bears all things."  Nice play on words, Boyds Bears.

The message I want to re-read is titled "Dig another well."  With the help of Google, I managed to find the passage:  Genesis 26:17-35

Isaac and his men dug a well.
Imagine the work!  The sweat and toil.
They get all done and *insert dramatic music* the Philistines enter the scene and claim the water & well theirs.  (Meanies!!!!)

What do Isaac and his men do?  They go dig another well.

They do this repeatedly.
Dig the well and here come the Philistines.

In the end of this account, the Angel of the Lord comes to Isaac and says, "Fear not."

You know what I have been thinking?  That perhaps this is MY reminder.

I can do task after task without an ounce of thanks because I am working for the Lord - not to earn any type of sanctification but out of a heart of love for Him.  I love Him and He will fill me to love others.  At the end of my life, it makes no difference what so-and-so did.  I will stand accountable for MY actions and thoughts.

When I am wronged tomorrow and this next week, I think I might just go a-well-diggin'!!!!

What I heard...

Ah. The beautiful gift of 2018 Angie who is taking professional advice and not assigning her peer work tasks.  It's truly magnificent to realize I do NOT have to be the assigner of workload.  I don't have to assign tasks.  Infact the direct quote was, "Stop assigning her tasks.  It is not your place."  I just make a list and distribute the list to one half of my dynamic duo and inform the other half.  The list receiver assigns and the other half agrees.  It is so beautiful.

Earlier today I thanked the completer of the task assignment.  Said completer let me know that I could ASK for help.  And do you know what I heard?  Would you like to guess?  I will give you a clue -- a dozen or so other times, I have been the recipient of snark, defensive body language and the list goes on.  Soooo no, I am not going to "ask" you to pull your weight.  Infact all I heard inside my pretty little head, "DON'T FALL FOR IT!!!  IT'S A TRAP!!!"

Actions over time have lead me to believe that you do not want to happily take directions from anyone other than the dynamic duo so, no, I am not going to ask.

2018 Angie doesn't need that kind of negativity in her life.  To quote the internet sensation Sweet Brown, "Ain't nobody got time for that!!!"

The truth

The truth has an amazing way of sorting itself out...and bonus - it doesn't need Angie Good's help.

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
