Once upon a time...

....I was that girl.

Which girl?

The girl that did her daily Bible reading and marked it off and went about her day.

I read It, yes.
Did I meditate on It?  I am not so sure.

It is different now.
I am being fed and filled week after week.

I love listening to my playlist of worship that we sing in Sunday.  I call it worship and hymns cause we do sing hymns too.

I am meditating on what I read and asking questions and searching for answers.  Why a wave offering?  What was the context of this particular passage?  Why did Jesus say this?  Why did God say He would give the Israelites quail enough to come out their nostrils?  (NOTE TO SELF:  Be careful reading the Bible while you eat your lunch.)

This reading and meditating and searching has been the biggest blessing the first quarter of 2019.

5th day of the new year

Well, we are 5 days in to the new year and so far - so good on my GOALS (not resolutions).

Amazon delivered a new book.  I am currently done with chapter 1 of my life group study.  I am 40ish pages in to the third book of the Orphan Train series.

Today I bought fabric for my VD project.  Pillowcase fabric and then felt for the other VD-ish project.  Not to be excluded - I have pinned some heart crocheting patterns.

My last not published progress comes in the form of being so over commenting and letting my coworker rule the roost that I just leave it be.  I inquire but from there - nothing.  It is kinda fun.

Oh and I started a QUOTE OF THE DAY stenopad which I hope to incorporate in to a Dept Christmas lunch game.

2019 Goals

I tried making resolutions for the first 20ish years of my life.
In my 30's, I got over that notion.
Now that I'm in my 40's, I make fun goals.  They are not resolutions.  They are not rules.  They are not things to live by.  They are goals I hope to accomplish.

My goals for 2019, in no particular order, are as follows:
1. Learn to knit socks.
2. Be more disciplined in regards to my budget.
3. Regarding the aforementioned 2nd goal, plan the bookstore trip to Scotland.
4. Consign more.

Four goals.  That's it.

I'm super excited about my first goal - the sock-making.  I spent the first 15 minutes of my lunch perusing the Ravelry website (www.ravelry.com).  Are you a knitter or crocheter?  Check out Ravelry.  * whispers * You can thank me later.

I found 2 pairs of "easy-peasy" socks.  Next I will need to procure size 1 double pointed knitting needles and some fabulous sock yarn.

The trouble with sock yarn is IT IS SO FABULOUS.  How am I going to pick one skein?

Regarding the next 2 goals - they are more of a "I-want-to-track" my budget and go from there.

Goal #4 - I blame my friend Lori. 😀  She found an ad for a trip to Scotland where you run a smallish bookshop for a week or two.  You are required to blog about the experience.  Ummmm...I LOVE BOOKS AND I LOVE TO BLOG.  Oh and I LOVE TRAVELING!!!!!!!

So there you have it.  My 2019 goals.

Did you make any goals?

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
