Today I spent the entire day with the most delightful 6-year old. Her name is Elaina. She is kind-hearted and very compassionate.
After returning from the Dr. Seuss reading extravaganza at Target and getting my hair trimmed, we decided to be ultra girlie and pull out the entire Kunz family nailpolish collection! Wow -- there were a multitude of colors to choose from...purples, blues, greens, reds, pinks, one bottle of yellow and a bottle of orange.
Elaina begged and pleaded to paint my nails. "I've never - ever done it before, Miss Angie. I want to try!" I decided...you know what, this is something small that will be HUGE in her eyes. She will remember this as the day that Miss Angie let me (Elaina) paint her nails!!! I went so far as to let her pick the colors...now what you see pictured below is my left hand...what you can't tell is that my right hand is painted all the same color - a fuchsia-y, purple-y color...oh, that has sparkles! It's kind of fun having one hand all the same and then my left hand kind of crazy.
The picture below is the infamous Elaina...nail painter EXTRAORDINAIRE!!!!
And then she convinced me to let her paint my toes... Yeah for fun toes!!!! Too bad I can't show these beauties off in some sandals. These would definitely make people talk!!! :)
Elaina and I both decided that maybe by painting our toes and fingers a variety of springy colors...maybe, just maybe, spring will come a little sooner...

I suddenly have a desire to watch Eloise! That is who Elaina reminds me of...I finally figured it out! Maybe it was your descriptive words of the fun you had that helped me figure it out. I can hear her saying, "I'm Elaina. I'm six."
