Snowing

This morning, I poured myself some heavenly nectar (coffee) into my favorite snowman mug.  Mmmm...coffee...  And while I leisurely enjoyed my steamy cup of goodness, I counted the days until spring.  34 days until Daylight Savings and 41 days until Spring.  Less than 5 weeks until we spring ahead!!!!  Less than 5 weeks until we get more sunlight!!!!  And less than 6 weeks until SPRING!  Blessed Spring...with all its warm-ness...with its rainy days....with its flowers....with its green grass...(sigh)...

Because of this cold front working its way in from Canada, I spent a majority of the day with a mild headache.  Not so much fun...  I finally caved in the afternoon and took something for it.  I can handle slight headaches but after 7 hours of battling with this one, I decided to wave the white flag and opt for my little friend called Advil.  What's funny is about 30 minutes after taking one, my headache subsided and I felt sooo much better!  Next time Fun Angie will wise-up and maybe give in earlier....

Around 2 in the afternoon, my co-worker declared (rather mockingly), "Oh my land - not another blizzard!  Run for your lives!"  Immediately my attention was drawn to the large windows in our conference room where I saw IT!!!!  I stood there staring outside...and  I saw it falling from the heavens.  White fluff!!!!  Really?  More snow?  And that is when it hit me...I was grumbling and complaining about something that I have no control over and I do not have the ability to change the weather...although wouldn't it cool if we could change the weather.  For example, I would have to change it to sunny and 72.  Just warm enough for a light sweater, skirt, and open-toed sandals...but not too hot or humid.  Oh how fickle we are!!!

Truth be told...the snow WAS pretty.  The flakes were huge and they drifted lazily to the ground where they piled up on the other 18 inches or sooo...  I bet tomorrow if the sun shines, the snow will look glittery and beautiful.  And I will try to focus on its beauty rather than its quantity and coldness...(sigh)...

What I did say to the snow that was falling, "Fall all you want!  Yep!  Keep coming because in less than 5 weeks, it will be spring!  And you will melt.  And the flowers were sprout up!  The trees will bud.  The birds will sing happily (as will Fun Angie)!  And you, my friend...snow, dear snow...you will be history!"  (Insert semi-evil laughter!)

There you have it.  My day in a nutshell.

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
