4:07 a.m.

Yes -- that was the time I arose from my slumber this morning.  Why?  Who knows???  I just know that I thought it was later in the morning...you know, 6-ish.  But it's not...it's 4-ish.  It's early!!!

Instead of being a sluggard, I turned on the dryer, clicked "Brew" on my coffeemaker, located my Bible, plopped down in the over-stuffed chair and snuggled under my blanket for some wonderful time with my Heavenly Father.  I need this time.  NEED - NEED - NEED!  And apparently, I need more of it than most days....maybe it's because today is the day after one of the monthly meetings at my place of employment and I know before even considering what I am going to wear to work today -- I know today is going to be busy!  Yesterday was busy too.  I didn't really realize just how busy it was until my co-worker said, "They've been throwing stuff at you left and right today!!!"  I got to thinking...you know what...he is right!  I'm thankful the Lord did not reveal to me earlier in the day just how busy I was...does that make sense?  Maybe I should say that I am thankful that He kept my focus on Him -- ever calming -- than on my circumstances, surroundings, and environment.

Before opening my Bible, I was praying for someone specifically and I was asking the Lord to show me a verse to send to this someone.  Now - for those of you who faithfully stalk my blog, you are aware that I am reading through my Bible, Genesis to Revelation.  I'm up to Numbers 10.  Since I am currently reading in the Old Testament, I was "surprised" when the Lord had me open my Bible to page 1085 to Matthew 21.  I should not have been "surprised" for you see, in my Bible, verse 22 is underlined.  It reads:

And all things,
whatsoever ye
shall ask in
prayer, believing,
ye shall receive.

Not only did this verse get sent along to be a merry little encouragement, but it completely encouraged me to continue praying...but also to believe!!!

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
