Hi! Did you wonder what happened to the girl with curls? Sorry about not blogging this past week....
Let's back-up to last weekend. I spent the weekend moving and unpacking. On Friday, my bestie brought her hubby's pickup and we were able to move 2 full truckloads plus 4 trips for Rosie. Having those day-before-moving-day transfers made Saturday quite a bit easier. Plus I had 10 people show up to help move and haul...and for the girls - unpack!!!
The move itself was easy because of the many hands. I remember waking-up the Saturday morning without a single doubt that God wasn't going to come through and provide just the right amount of help. He did!!! And I soo thankful to those who gave of their time and energy to be a blessing!!!
Sunday was spent unpacking between church and choir. Honestly ~ by the time choir practice had started (5:15 p.m.) I had hit a wall. I vaguely remember walking in to choir late and sitting on the pew just listening and being encouraged.
Monday was more of a blur. Some time around 1:00 p.m. a low-grade temp and a headache reeked havoc with my afternoon plans (Read: typing and filing). So I spent the afternoon answering the phones and attempting edits to a tricky Excel spreadsheet.
Monday night's unpacking gathering was postponed and slumber was a must. MUST!!!
Tuesday was quite pleasant after 9 hours of sweet slumber. A couple friends came over Tuesday evening for chili and gabbing.
Wednesday night we bundled-up and went caroling!!! It was so much fun being a blessing because we all know "the best way to spend Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear."
Thursday....did this past week have a Thursday? :)
Friday was our department luncheon. Fun times!!! I like it when we all get together and have lunch and can chit-chat.
And here it is....Saturday. This morning I had coffee with my bestie who is in town for Christmas. I love how we can pick up right where we left off. I miss her dearly. Two thousand miles separate us but for the next 5 days, they are literally a 1/2 mile away!!!
Note: There is a huge winter storm headed toward to Rockford. Against my better judgement, I attempted to go to Woodmans today. Ummmmmmmm....one glance at the completely packed parking lot and I was pulling out the Dukes of Hazard u-turn and headed in the direction of the red bull's eye. I know, I know....the whole credit card number compromising situation....but IT'S THE BULL'S EYE!!!!! Why was I shocked that Target was crowded too? Helloooooooooo Angie! It's the Saturday before Christmas and the day before the snowstorm.
I managed to remember three things on my forgotten list. (Sigh.)
After shopping, I returned home to pack up an overnight bag for dog-sitting. Sooo here it is Saturday night and I am enjoying an evening in front of a beautiful Christmas tree with 2 ridiculous dogs by my side....and we are watching Hallmark and waiting for the snowstorm to arrive!!!
I actually like weekend snowstorms....especially right before Christmas!!!
