I cannot believe this was on Pinterest!!!!  I totally do this...  I have outfits that are "good with curls" and "must straighten my hair" outfits.  I thought I was the only curly haired girl that does this....  I AM NOT ALONE!!!!!  CURLY HAIR GIRLS OF THE WORLD UNITE!  I wonder if there's a convention of curls.  Hmmmmm....

The post pre-haircut

Here's what I am contemplating for a haircut...

I like that it's short but not too short.  Also the layers will be great when I straighten my hair.

Why is it that I will have "bad" hair days for a week and schedule a haircut...and then like MAGIC, I have 3 or 4 great hair days right in a row thus making me reconsider the scheduled haircut?  Why does this happen, Blog-stalkers?

Fun fact about naturally curly hair -- in the summer when it's humid (which makes me look like the 6th member of the Jackson Five --> humidity + curls = ain't pretty!), it's best to use a diffuser attachment on your blow-dryer to seal-in the moisture.  From what I understand, it helps keep your curls safe from the effects of humidity.  I, also, HIGHLY recommend the hair product It's a 10!  It is amazing.  A little pricey...but if you want to have "normal" curly hair in the summer, get a bottle.  Another great product that is sans-gluten (did you know they put wheat in practically EVERYTHING?) is called Behaved made my Biomega.

I'm in one of those "dangerous" moods...where I might tell Missy to "chop it"!!!!  It's kinda scary and exciting all at once...

Pictures to be posted later.  :)
Happy Saturday, Blog-Stalkers!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounded like a good idea...

After blow-drying my hair straight, I thought I would add some volume by flipping my head upside down and spraying my hair with W8less.  What I didn't realize is that when I flipped my head right-side-up that I would resemble...well, that I would resemble the picture below.

If I wasn't so vain and afraid to post a picture on the internet, I would show you what my hair actually looked like...but truth-be-told, it really did look like the picture above.  (Sigh.)

The End.

They are entering a curly bomb shelter never to see the light of day again...

Today I slathered my hair with Behaved hair product.  That stuff has magical powers.  It's able to help my hair go from a massive amount of curly-craziness to a semi-straight state...that is until I went to the gym where the AC must not have been working to its full potential.  I left the gym with crazy, CR-AZE-EEEEEEE hair.

For those of you who are blessed to not have curly and/or wavy hair, humidity flattens your hair.  I was informed last night.  For us curly hair and/or wavy hair folks, humidity tightens its hold on our curls/waves making them cry out in agony as they kink-up as if they are entering a curly bomb shelter never to see the light of day again.  That might be too severe...then again, you did not get to see my hair tonight when I left the gym.  I actually thought, I should probably invest in an emergency baseball cap for days like today.  It wasn't pretty.

Hair product really does matter.  Behaved is probably my new favorite.  I say "new favorite" because I've only known of those this fabulous product for two months.  Behaved straightens my hair when combined with the blowdryer...however for a fun curly look, I can put Behaved on my hair and let my curls air dry.

Something I did not know until thumbing through a magazine, it's a good idea to diffuse curly hair.  Diffusing (blow drying with a diffuser) seals your hair and keeps the humid moisture from frizzying out the curls.  I never knew that until about a year ago...enlightening.  See -- read my blog and you learn stuff.  Random stuff...but you learn.

Oh - and Behaved has sunscreen for your hair.  Did you know that your hair needs sunscreen?  I kinda remember hearing something about that when I was in college in Florida...obviously it did not stick with me thus the reminder... :)

Another great hair product for humid days, It's A 10.  It's a leave-in hair conditioning product that does 10 things to your hair.  I like that it protects my hair from the straightener.

That's all for now.

My Eureka Moment

Sooo I don't have these Eureka-type moments very often...imagine my surprise when it happened this morning while getting ready for work.  Let me rewind...  On Saturday, I had a discussion with my hair stylist about blow dryers.  What spurned this discussion?  Well, a weekly discussion that I partake in with a co-worker.  You see...whenever I am between projects and I am feeling a mini-mental break, I bring up the topic of blow dryers.  It's beautiful and it works like a charm.  She will expound on the cost of blow dryers, the types available, the wattage, etc.

Ok --- so my very own Eureka moment happened this morning.  I pulled out my blow dryer and plugged it in.  When I went to turn it on, it happened...

...my blow dryer has been set on the wrong temperature setting.  I need it to be set on HOT AIR...not this mambie-pambie "warm" setting.  Sheesh!

One quick nudge to the HOT setting and my hair straightened fabulously.  :)  It was wonderful.

I do believe that my current blow dryer is about to go off to that happy appliance store in the sky and rest in peace.  But know this -- I am informed and will make a wise blow dryer purchase decision based on the facts that were presented...and the next blow dryer I get, I will keep the air setting on "HOT"!!!  And for reasons I cannot fully remember, I want to make sure it's ionic.  :)

Eureka!

Sweetest comment

This morning after church, an elderly gentleman & his delightful wife came up to me and he said, "Angie - I love your hair!  That's the way to get the menfolk's attention!  Change it up!  It looks lovely!"  I thought this was the sweetest comment ever...

All "yea" and one "nay"

Soo far I have had all positive feedback except one not so positive.  Now the not-so-positive wasn't really negative...and I did ask this person to be completely honest.  Do I fault this person for their honesty?  NOPE!  I asked (or if we were on the west side -- which I kind of am...I AXED) for it.  I believe the text said, "Be honest. Curly or straight?"

I, however, love my straight hair.  I'm not sure what I love most about my straight hair...well, I like it that everyone else likes it equally as much as I do!  That's always a plus!  And I like it that it will save me on shampoo and conditioner -- BONUS!

I feel more confident with straight hair...which might sound strange.  And don't get me wrong -- I do like my curls.  But I like this too...perhaps equally.  Yes -- FIDDY/FIDDY!  (You really did not think I would put "fifty/fifty"?  Don't you know me?  Don't you stalk me on my blog?)

The weapon of curl destruction

On Fox News, we hear talk about "Weapons of mass destruction"...well, this little, pink, faux fur straightener is my tool of CURL DESTRUCTION. When I went to Target to purchase one, this one was the cheapest and the sassiest...and let's be honest, PINK FAUX FUR -- does that not scream "Fun Angie"???  I thought you would agree.

Soo now you know...blow dryer, styling cream, and this little gem...and it's bye-bye curlies!

It's been awhile.

While I was in The JoAnn Fabrics store this afternoon purchasing pre-punched paper for my 2024 garden journal, I said to myself, "Self,...
